i am 26 years old and learning to drive a stick...
yes.
for the first time in 11 years, i drove a stick shift today. my very FIRST and only other time was when I was 15, had just got my permit and my dad made me drive his toyota tercel back to our house from the DMV. i damn near hit a car head on (was focused on the shifting to the proper gear instead of the road) and at the first stop sign, told dad that he had to drive us the rest of the way...

I have a mattress on the floor and i’ve been looking in to getting a frame, but I can’t do it. I think it will throw off the whole look of my room. But I did just get a new mattress! :)
nice! my mattress is pretty old, but it’s still working well haha. going to use it til it’s dead basically.

so for the last, i’d say, five years, i’ve had a mattress and boxspring that sit directly on the floor. no bedframe, no headboard. the most i’ve had was an area rug underneath when i had hardwood floors. that made it fancy, right?
about a week or two ago, my friend Whitney gave me her old headboard and bedframe since she and my other friend, martin, bought a new one.

yeah. it’s been THAT kind of day.
you know the feeling you get when watching (one of) your favorite band live…especially for the first time? how even though you know it’s going to end, you never want it to? maybe you’re a little buzzed, maybe you’re stone cold sober. either way, everything seems so perfect…from the rest of the crowd, to the lighting to every single song.
that’s how saturday...
